In partnership with Healthy Waters, Pipe Vision successfully delivered a six-month Auckland CBD stormwater inspection and repair project, improving the condition and performance of critical infrastructure. Through CCTV inspections, condition grading, flushing, root cutting and minor repairs, we ensured long-term asset health
In recognition of our work, Pipe Vision received a Certificate of Excellence from Healthy Waters.
Originally scoped for 30km of stormwater pipelines over 12 months, Pipe Vision completed the work two months ahead of schedule and under budget. A further 10kms was added to the original scope of work which we completed successfully.
Pipe Vision conducted:
A key innovation was the use of Pipe Vision’s GIS, which enabled real-time task tracking, live asset updates from the field, and colour-coded condition grading. All GIS data was shared with Healthy Waters, ensuring full transparency and collaboration throughout.
As a result, Healthy Waters now has a live, GIS-based overview of all critical assets, supporting smarter maintenance planning and investment across Auckland’s CBD.
One of the biggest challenges was managing night-time traffic management (Nova) alongside asset access limitations during high tide. Despite these constraints, our team collaborated closely with our traffic management partner and adjusted our schedule to safely and efficiently complete the work on time.
The comprehensive data collected through this project will continue to guide Healthy Waters in making well-informed decisions for future maintenance and investments of Auckland’s critical stormwater assets.
